Dots on Pinterest

“I’m gonna need more of you this year than ever”, 

I told you before you spread your wings, 

Why does love ignite a memory,

 and leave a flame that stings 


Pinterest said you’re an airplane 

and a few dots away, 

FaceTime said you woke up next to me, 

and my frown turned to a smile once again


There’s days I’m closer to you than ever, 

we brush our teeth and skin care together, 

But there’s nights when FaceTime is a blur,  

And the dots on Pinterest turn into my tears 


I miss you more than I ever planned, 

If tears could build a bridge, 

I’d connect all the dots, 

Run to you, finally hold your hand 


But for now, it’s us, 

FaceTime, Pinterest and the ticking clock, 

The screen is our canvas 

I’ll wipe your tears, we can stay silent, we don’t have to talk….
