When I walked towards you tonight,

A part of me froze, did I look alright? 

Silence is not the language you've known

Never have I seen this shy man,

Tightly holding on to a white rose 


Habits don't change and our fingers intertwine

Each star burned since our first dance on cloud nine 


Just pull me closer, I'm afraid to leave

Us, is a new word, added to my vocabulary 

Surely we're just friends,

The hardest lie I've ever kept 


A man's in my life, he's worth the shoebites and the ammends 


My boy leaves me hanging with

Unfinished kisses on my cheek

Stay for a while honey, I promise 

Even the stars aren't asleep
