Punctuation Marks...

Punctuation Marks...  - Jerusha Patel When does a poem end?  It's an answer I can't find Every moment spent with you, paints colours my eyes can't define  How can I end Fingers Chasing You when there's more I want to write  It's the way you shake your legs,  anxious before your hero says goodbye  Is our Mismatched Rhythm incomplete cause I yet don't have the answers  But I love when I see you looking at me,  your starry eyes lying in disbelief  Is it fair to end Back with the Blues  Cause now you're all relaxed  I hope I make you feel a bit better everytime I hold your hand  How does this poem end?  I don't like full stops  Rules aren't meant for you,  let's write our own punctuation marks.....

The Things Love Does

Image
The Things Love Does  - Jerusha Patel What does it mean  To have my heart race, my stomach scream Who’s that man,  He’s calmed my war, become my peace  The things love does,  no book can ever explain  His kind words, gentle kisses,  a man that’s not afraid to admit his mistakes He thinks about my comfort,  his eyes worried about my cramps  He rests his chin on my head,  just so I move closer to him and stand  He calls me when I’m afraid,  to take the evil eye off my glance  He takes care of me like a little baby,  cleans the nosey off my hands  The things love does,  he teaches me kindness Love is not my fear anymore,  He’s the best version I’ve been Our worlds revolve differently,  yet he holds my hand I’ve known love all my life,  but he’s the first one I want to understand

Dots on Pinterest

Image
Dots on Pinterest  - Jerusha Patel “I’m gonna need more of you this year than ever”,  I told you before you spread your wings,  Why does love ignite a memory,  and leave a flame that stings  Pinterest said you’re an airplane  and a few dots away,  FaceTime said you woke up next to me,  and my frown turned to a smile once again There’s days I’m closer to you than ever,  we brush our teeth and skin care together,  But there’s nights when FaceTime is a blur,   And the dots on Pinterest turn into my tears  I miss you more than I ever planned,  If tears could build a bridge,  I’d connect all the dots,  Run to you, finally hold your hand  But for now, it’s us,  FaceTime, Pinterest and the ticking clock,  The screen is our canvas  I’ll wipe your tears, we can stay silent, we don’t have to talk….

Fingers Chasing You

Image
Fingers Chasing You - Jerusha Patel I'd rarely enjoy movies,  Look where I'm at now  A cinema hall, next to you  or somewhere in the clouds  Your passion's contagious But movies have never been my muse  We're different like tea and fondue Yet art unites us two  We're never late for a movie,  You have a record to pursue  I would only run a kilometre if my fingers are chasing you  Well, this film's a comedy,  boxing is your favourite story You've fixed your glance,  but look to see when I laugh  Where are the rules that you once set? Your broken kisses seem to forget  I'm cold and my finger's up your sleeve,  You look back to ask if I'm asleep  2 hours aren't enough,  I have an evening planned for us  I'm just finding excuses to stay  My assignments not done today  It's the end of the movie  ours is yet my favourite story  Your hero is on screen,  and mine's next to me

Mismatched Rhythm

Image
Mistmatched Rhythm - Jerusha Patel  I wrote a message to you that night,  I meant it with every tear,  No man's ever had his way with me,  Love is my biggest fear  They ask me why him?  Well, I wish I knew the answer  I guess it's just attraction  Or maybe our mismatched rhythm  I don't allow affection,  run when it finds my way But I love when you take care of me,  You're now a part of my prayer  I love when you blow on my tea,  And  how you talk to my sister  I love how you're mending our relation, And when you wait at the train station  I love how you open my bag like it's your own, how you want to get out of your comfort zone I love when you run to me like a little baby,  And when you walk slowly cause I've hurt my heel  I love how you acknowledge your weakness,  And rub my hand when I've hurt it  I love when you bought popcorn for me,  Even though you missed a part of the ...
